“Whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Matthew 25:40

At St. James and Salem, we don’t consider outreach an obligation; we consider it a joy! Christ modeled himself as the ultimate Servant, so we strive to carry on His example of humble servanthood. We engage in a number of different outreach projects through the year so we can give back in gratitude for all that God has given us. Our outreach not only touches the local communities of Fairlee and Worton, but it blesses people all over the world! Plus, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to help. Below are just a few examples of some of our latest outreach projects…

Each August our churches collect school supplies for local children. During one of our Sunday services we pray over the donations and also lift up our children, teachers, and administrators. We have donated boxes of needed supplies to make sure our children begin each school year prepared and excited to learn!

Salem and St. James faithfully support our county’s food pantry with regular donations. During the holidays we participate in Operation Christmas Child by filling shoeboxes that are distributed to needy children all over the globe. Also, this past Christmas we collected donations for adults living in a group residential facility. We provided them with new bedding and other needed items to help make their Christmas special. There is no such thing as giving too little; every bit is appreciated!
