“Let us not give up the habit of meeting together…”
Hebrews 10:25
At St. James and Salem, we love God and we love each other. Fellowship is one of the best parts of our church family. And like any good Methodists, our covered dish dinners are a must!
Women of Faith
Five years ago, a few women from our churches saw a need for a greater connection among women in our local communities. After much planning and prayer, the first Women in Faith breakfast was held, and around eight women attended. Since then, this much needed fellowship has grown to include more than thirty women from various denominations, all hungry for God and Christian companionship! We meet the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. for a time of fellowship, breakfast, and a brief, faith-centered program. Our Women in Faith also actively engage in outreach in our local communities. Won’t you become part of us? All are welcome!
Special Events
There are plenty of opportunities to get together in our churches! Throughout the year we host several special events that provide a time not only to be in fellowship together but also to serve God and our community. Each year our churches sponsor an annual chicken barbecue. It serves as a fundraiser for our important ministries, but it’s also a time of fun! Our members of all ages gather to help and enjoy this special day! Contact us if you’d like to hear more about our fellowship opportunities.
Salem Christmas Tree Lighting
This tradition dates back more than thirty years. It literally brightens our day and the surrounding community of Fairlee for miles! Held the first Saturday evening in December, we gather ‘round our massive tree as it’s lit for the first time each Advent season. We sing Christmas carols and hear an encouraging word about the coming of our Savior. Then we head to our fellowship hall for a delicious meal and a time to celebrate the holidays together!
